About Us

My name is Del, "just like Del Piero but without the ability", as I typically tell Italian's when introducing myself!

I was born and raised in Glasgow and I am the founder of Gazzetta Clothing.

As a 90's kid Football Italia played a pivotal role in my childhood - the legendary players, stadiums and of course, the iconic James Richardson sipping an espresso and reading the Gazzetta Dello Sport in a charming piazza as he introduced Channel 4's Gazzetta Football Italia to a spellbound UK audience every Saturday morning.

My first exposure to Italian football came on an October night in 1995, when Rangers faced the mighty Juventus in the iconic Stadio Delle Alpi. The result? A brutal 4-1 defeat. It was a humbling moment for a young Delboy, when I realised there are levels to this game! It's fair to say that my perception of the beautiful game shifted in the space of 90 minutes! Amidst my heartbreak, one name shimmered that evening: Alessandro Del Piero. I had never witnessed artistry like it! From that moment on, Italian football and moreover, Italian culture seeped into my little soul. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a love affair that would endure a lifetime.

Through countless trips to Italy, learning the language and immersing myself in the culture, I've been really fortunate to make some amazing Italian friends along the way - particularly in Roma, which has now become my adopted home. As I often tell people in Italy when I meet them, "io sono Scozzese pero Romano ner core", which literally means I'm Scottish but Roman at heart.

Through my passion for Italian Football, Italian culture and Menswear I wanted to create wearable garments that would allow me and like-minded others to actively engage in our collective nostalgia of the 90s and Football Italia in a mature and acceptable way. Thus Gazzetta Clothing was born.

With that in mind I have created a range of merchandise that I hope you'll enjoy. The merchandise itself gives a firm nod to Ivy League style, in order to balance out the novelty aspect with more classical style.

What's more, for me, Gazzetta is about creating a community, so please join in! Tag us in your social media posts wearing your #gazzettaclothing merch during your trips to Italy, or football stadiums around the globe, or even when sipping an espresso, or a cappuccino at your local bar. Let us know what merch you would like to see from us by commenting on Social Media posts and please share any inspiring comment from your own trips to Italy - from football stadiums, to places, to bars and restaurants - we want to hear from you!

Each month Gazzetta will launch an exciting new collection, so keep your eyes peeled for our latest drops

Anyway, grazie mille for taking the time to read our story and for all the support.
